Technology imitates conciousness

I was surfing the web today and found this video that I found very interesting; it’s about a development process that is currently occurring for something called the ‘sixth sense’ which is basically emulates some of what one could achieve with a finely tuned sixth sense into technology.

How amazing is that?! Technology that essentially integrates the collective consciousness of global ideas with our external reality.

I imagine that in the  not too distant future the trend towards smaller portable PCs designed for simple tasks and portable interaction with the web (for instance the netbook, IEE PCs) will merge with the smart phone and devices like these will essentially gives users an always on and un-encumbering interface to share and retrieve information about the world around them with other users in real-time.

It has the potential to become a faux sixth sense for the general populace (hence the name I guess).

It could potentially be dangerous for people who seek spiritual growth however; as if we come to rely on technology such as this then any natural sixth sense development we may have throughout the course of our lives could be extremely limited which may make it more difficult for our Navigators / higher conciousness to communicate with us and lead us towards awakening.

None the less; the geek in me is still very excited about the potential of this technology; and the white cell in me sees this as part of the next step in the evolution of the planetary conciousness.

  • The Biology of Personality

Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting and observation of the nuances of (my) organic body.

It is amazing to me how subtle you can go with careful observation – I have been able to feel the different chemical / electrical combinations from certain elements in this reality that have an effect on my brain and then navigate my conciousness to that segment and somehow neutralize the chemical / electrical reactions.

To better understand the way that the brain works – especially how habits and personality traits are formed in the neo-cortex – I decided to find a good book on neuroscience and the biology of personality. Having learned from Eric for a while now, in which time I have absorbed and reflected on a lot of information on the I’s and how our personalities interact from a higher level, I was shocked to find out how little information was out there related to patterns in brain chemistry / brain state symmetry.

I had (stupidly it seems) assumed that science was closer to reaching a higher understanding in line with Eric’s teachings than it was – as in the realm of M-theory and quantum mechanics.

There is some interesting research on the interactions of chemicals released naturally in the brain and spiritual experiences (eg – DMT) and the relationship between the two. I think it would be very interesting to take some blood samples and brainwave scans of someone who is deep in-between; but at the same time the thought of being in-between and having a needle stuck in my arm or having electrodes taped to my head just doesn’t feel like something I would like to experience. lol.

  • Note: The following article was written based on my understandings and reflections of the material produced  by Eric Pepin and Higher Balance.

Ok, so to begin, I will say that imagination is something that I have struggled with in my spiritual journey for quite some time … I have come from quite a New Age background, in which I found my imagination was encouraged to run wild and I would tag anything and everything as a ‘Divine Message’ or a ‘message from a spirit guide, or ascended master’, or whatever you want to call it. I’m not saying that I never receive any accurate information using this method, but these days I see it kind of like one of those rat poison cookies you can buy – they might be 99% cookie and 1% poison, but just because there is more cookie than poison, it doesn’t make it any less dangerous.

    Anyway, back to the topic … First, we’ll break down a few concepts to begin with just as a refresher;

    • Knowledge (well really the understanding of that knowledge) plays an important part in the growth process – by being able to internalise and comprehend information, it allows us to expand our dimensional consciousness and consequently raise our tonal (interestingly enough, raising your tonal is also linked to further understanding of knowledge, so if you raise your tonal and are in a fluidic state, you will understand the knowledge without studying it). Understanding is also important because it allows us to stretch our governors by increasing our awareness of the dimension we current reside in – i.e. – by being able to understand skills of what would be considered a ‘paranormal’ nature, our governor is able to tag them as ‘acceptable perspectives of reality’ thus allowing us to deepen these skills thereby creating a positive feedback loop, that if worked on consistently can sky-rocket your results in any ‘paranormal’ skill you may wish to develop.

It has also been my experience that by having a limited perception of something – which is often caused by being crystallized into a particular concept or ideology on a given situation, perspective or thing – will often limit you from experiencing it as your governor will edit the extra data out.

    • The sixth sense – when I say the sixth sense, I refer to what others may call psychic ability or intuition.
    • Imagination – well, this one’s pretty obvious as I’m sure we all know what imagination is. :)

So now that we are all on the same page with what I mean by those three things, I will begin.

The example that I will use to illustrate how combining these three things can help to increase your awareness is Energy Movements.

The first key – understanding – requires that you understand that energy (prana) exists all around us, and we only draw it to us and interact with it in meaningful ways when we are mindful of it. We also need to understand that we can move it around, as we are simultaneously a being made of subtle energies and a being comprised of dense organic matter, and that we are able to move the energy with our will from this dimension. However, as we are seated in this organic vehicle and our brains are programmed to recognise that physical action, or cause, equates to movement, or effect, the easiest way to work with prana is to move it as if we were using our physical bodies and combining this with prana mindfulness, or awareness.

In this particular instance, the next two keys (imagination and the 6th sense) are very intertwined. As you will see shortly, we can think of the usage of the imagination like a ‘jump start’ to your sixth sense. Although this method is somewhat specific to Energy Movements, you should be able to take the information and re-engineer it to suit your desired purpose.

As you do the physical movement with your hands, imagine that you are moving your hand through the water; that as it moves ripples spread in each direction. Feel the ripples as they disturb the water around you. If you feel you need to visualise, that is ok, but do not hold onto the visualisation as it is heavy. Create the visualisation in your mind and then allow the data to move from your mind into your chest centre, and feel the visualisation you have created, thereby projecting it outward. The subtle feelings on your skin and the feeling of air movement around you is part of your sixth sense interpreting data from your environment as ‘touch’ on your skin; except you initiated it with your imagination.

Notice how the 3 keys have created 1 experience.

Energy Movements may seem like a simple example, but this formula can be applied to many techniques.
